Kraków, like so many cities in Poland, is ancient and absolutely gorgeous. It's a riverside city, resplendently clothed in architecture from the Baroque, Gothic and Renaissance eras. It's been named both a "City of Literature" by UNESCO, and a "European Capital of Culture". It's also a highly musical city, with a heritage that is hard to match: it has regularly been acknowledged as a leading European city for opera and symphonic music, as well as film and graphic arts. Buy or sell Kraków event tickets on StubHub to experience all the many facets of this absorbing city that is at once deeply historic and ultra-modern.
Kraków, a European musical capital
Kraków has Europe's biggest medieval market square, which has always served as an excellent setting off point for exploring the city. If you're visiting for the opera, attend a performance of the city's main and Polands's national opera company, Opera Krakowska. Otherwise, time your visit to coincide with either the Krakow Film and Music Festival or the Festival of Polish music, which is a showcase of Eastern European classical composers and orchestras. On the sporting front, football is a big attraction in the city and it's home to two Polish champion teams, Wisła Kraków and Cracovia. Travelling football fans can include matches for both teams when buying Kraków event tickets. Ice hockey is another popular sport here, with Cracovia once again being the team to go and watch.
Kraków, for big concerts and cosy jazz
Kraków has played host to dozens of large music concerts, and the venue to keep your eye on for this type of entertainment is Tauron Arena, which has been graced by a who's who of world music, such as Sting, Andrea Bocelli and Deep Purple. Theatre-goers have many quaint venues to explore, like the Bagatela Theatre, and kids have always flocked to the puppet shows at Groteska Theatre. For more grandeur, head over to Slowacki Theatre, with its sumptuous architecture. For a night on the town, Baccarat has always been highly recommended and Drukarnia has morphed from a tiny, cosy cafe into a premier jazz venue. (Rest assured, it kept its cosiness.) Kraków event tickets will give you instant access to all of these experiences, available around the clock on StubHub.
Seeing the surrounding areas
Kraków has several similarly sized cities relatively close by, so it's not difficult to strike out into the Polish countryside and even visit the Czech Republic. Follow the main highway west and you'll soon come to Katowice,. tThen head north to Częstochowa, a city of similar size. There plenty of events happening in both, with tickets available on StubHub. The Czech town of Ostrava lies just across the nearby border, which makes it a good idea to extend your experience of Eastern Europe just a little more while you're there.
