Johnny Flynn Biography - Fuelled by the Poetry of Yeats and Shakespeare
This multi-talented performer was born in South Africa but moved to Britain with his parents at the age of 3, where he developed a fascination with music. After winning a scholarship at Winchester College, the artist was required to learn two instruments - the violin and trumpet - before teaching himself the guitar. In the last decade he has emerged as one of the leading voices of the nu folk movement alongside other folk heavyweights Mumford and Sons and Noah and the Whale.
His critically acclaimed debut A Larum hit shelves in 2008 where it caught the attention of the music press. 2010 follow-up Been Listening boasted a collection of ethereal tunes, including collaborations with Laura Marling on 'The Water' and Anna Calvi on 'The Prizefighter and the Heiress'. Yet this sensational singer's talents don't stop there - he's an accomplished actor with plenty of West End experience under his belt including a bevy of impressive roles in Twelfth Night and Richard III. Set to co-star with Anne Hathaway in 2014 film Song One, his popularity on both the screen and stage is quickly increasing. Citing the works of Shakespeare, Eliot and Yeats as major influences, this bard is winning over UK audiences quickly - snap up Johnny Flynn tickets now on StubHub UK.
