Jim Jefferies: star likely to film next comedy special DVD in London

Hailing from Sydney, comedian, actor and writer Geoff Nugent (AKA Jim Jefferies) got his first big break performing at the Manchester Comedy Store and released his first DVD, "Contraband" on a limited-edition run in 2008. It was in the UK that he first made his name, appearing at the Edinburgh Fringe festival as well as music bashes such as the Reading and Leeds Festival and Glastonbury.

He also made inroads into TV, appearing on panel shows including Never Mind the Buzzcocks, Have I Got News for You, The Heaven and Earth Show and 8 Out of 10 Cats. However, following a successful US TV debut on HBO he upped sticks from London, where he had made his home, to Los Angeles. The move paid off, and in 2013 he got his own TV show, Legit, which ran on the FX channel and was brought back for a second season in 2014.

Following the release of his Netflix special, Freedumb, in July 2016, Jefferies has been performing The Unusual Punishment Tour with all-new material, and is expected to film his next comedy special at the Hammersmith Apollo in London, in January 2018.
