Growing up in Salford, Greater Manchester, this award-winning comic soon found that his large Irish-Catholic were up for a laugh. Earning his stripes as a teenage glass collector at a local comedy club, he got his big break when he filled in for a no-show performer. Six gigs later, his meteoric rise saw him crowned North West Comedian of the Year by listings magazine City Life. Buoyed by the exposure, his 2005 Edinburgh Fringe show Urban Legends earned him a nomination for the coveted Perrier Award in 2005. However, it was his 2007 turn on TV's Live at the Apollo that saw his career go supernova, leading to spots on shows such as 8 Out of 10 Cats and a presenting role on the One Show. Now one of the country's most recognisable comics, his lengthy nationwide arena tours always prove a hit with punters keen to discover where he'll take his charming humour next.
