Jason Isbell is a native of the Deep South, growing up in northern Alabama as part of a musical Pentecostal family. He quickly developed his own musical style, and his talent got him into the legendary Muscle Shoals music scene. After cutting a few demos, Isbell joined the talented Southern rock/country band the Drive-By Truckers. The band released three critically acclaimed and commercially successful albums with Isbell before he embarked on a solo music career.

Jason Isbell earned raves almost immediately for his solo work, starting with his remarkable debut, "Sirens of the Ditch," in 2007. The record, boasting a captivating country/rock mix that would define Isbell's career, included songs such as "Try," "Down in a Hole," "Dress Blues" and "Grown," and the album's lyrics featured a politically tinged bent.
Hit Albums
Jason Isbell has released several hit solo albums to adoration from critics and fans alike. After his debut, "Sirens of the Ditch," Isbell followed up with a sophomore album titled "Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit," a southern-rock album. After another album with the 400 Unit titled "Here We Rest," Isbell teamed up with producer Ryan Adams to release the stark and affecting album "Southeastern" in 2013. The record earned massive praise from the music industry, being hailed as one of the best records of the year. Isbell released another album, "Something More Than Free," in July 2015.
