What made Goldlink

Born in Washington DC in the early '90s, Goldlink began performing under his birth name D'Anthony Carlos. Music started off as a hobby and he began by releasing numerous tracks on the streaming app Soundcloud. His musical creations quickly grew in to a well-established career after the release of his first mixtape "The Gold Complex". "The Gold Complex" received positive reviews, with many hip-hop outlets placing it on their top albums lists for 2014. Goldlink released his follow-up mix tape "After that, we didn't talk" the following year. His talents did not go unnoticed as he was signed to major record label RCA in 2016. With this new deal, he released his album "At What Cost", which featured collaborations with Wale and Mya. The album spawned hits like "Meditation" and "Crew", which peaked in the Billboard Hot 100 charts and the US Billboard 200 chart. The single also went on to receive a nomination for the "best rap song performance" and the 60th Annual Grammy Awards. Goldlink's second Grammy nomination came the following year at the 61st Annual Grammys, where he was nominated for "best rap song performance" once again.
