About New London Theatre - Contemporary Classics

Opening in 1973 in a more modern state, New London Theatre stands apart from its history-seeped West End counterparts. Hailed as 'Europe's revolutionary new entertainment venue', New London Theatre architects Paul Tvrtkovic and Sean Kenny were challenged with redesigning a 'theatre for the future' in 2002 after Andrew Lloyd Webber's seminal musical Cats came to the end of its 21-year run.

Incorporating a series of innovative features, most notably a stunning 60-foot wide revolve, the newly designed New London Theatre welcomed Shakespearean classic King Lear, theatrical innovators Blue Man Group and Gone With the Wind before War Horse: the Playlanded and was voted 'Best West End Show' by What's On Stage.

The New London Theatre Drury Lane is no stranger to wowing crowds. Talent including Richard Gere, Bruce Forsyth and Bonnie Langford have appeared on its stage over the years, along with the late Stephen Gately as Joseph in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat.
