Something for everyone to enjoy
In 1870, the Town Moor Improvement Act decreed that land should be developed for recreation. In 1887 The Royal Jubilee Exhibition was held and the park named accordingly. Since then the park has seen many changes and all but one of the original buildings have been demolished. Still standing is the beautiful Grade Two listed ‘Palace of the Arts’, which is home to the real ale producers, the Wylam Brewery. Events that have taken place there include incredible performances from Gabrielle Aplin, Quantic, and Martin Kemp. A spectacular New Year’s Eve fireworks display event is always a popular choice with both locals and visitors alike. Enjoy a walk or run around the park and lake and stop for a rest in the vintage bandstand or café. The park is not only a beautiful festival venue; it also holds something that everyone in the family can enjoy. The park boasts a variety of facilities including the Café in the Park, croquet lawns, tennis courts, a lake with swans and ducks, and a basketball court. Children can let loose in the refurbished, modern playground, show off their moves in the skate-park and make-believe at the model railway! Boasting great public transport links at Haymarket, getting to the park itself is a breeze. Buy your Exhibition Park Newcastle tickets on StubHub!
