Eddie Izzard Biography - Unique Comedian To Bring Latest Show to London

Born in the Colony of Aden, the young comedian grew up in both Northern Ireland and Wales, before attending boarding schools throughout his teen years. It wasn't until meeting friend Rob Ballard at the University of Sheffield however that he found his talent in comedy and consequently spent a large proportion of the '80s and '90s performing throughout London at venues like the Comedy Store. His theatre debut came soon after, with lead roles in productions from Christopher Marlowe's Edward II, to Peter Nichols' play A Day in the Death of Joe Egg, which when taken to Broadway in 2003 led to multiple Tony nominations for the rising star.

Throughout this time, he also embarked on a number of successful stand-up shows, taking his surrealist style to the stage with a stream-of-consciousness delivery that bounces between worldly topics. The shows ranged from the simple set up of Unrepeatable to the abstract set covered in pop-art style images of the star for Dress to Kill. His latest show, Force Majeure started in 2013 and has toured across the world before returning to London's Palace Theatre in January 2016.
