Illusionist, mentalist and talented painter, this star of the magic world is bringing his latest mind-boggling stage show to the West End, before taking it on tour for a series of dates across the UK. Derren Brown Biography - Astounding Audiences for 15 years

Now one of the leading figures in modern illusion, the former Law and German student at the University of Bristol found his inspiration after attending a hypnotist show. He began working as a magician, performing close-up tricks in bars and restaurants in the early '90s. Teaching himself skills such as hypnosis, subliminal suggestion and cold reading, he began performing on stage under the name Darren V Brown. His breakthrough came in 2000 with the Channel 4 TV special Mind Control, stunning audiences with his powers of suggestion and perception.

Since then he has gone on to have a number of successful stage shows, and his second project Something Wicked This Way Comes won him an Olivier Award for Best Entertainment. A few years later came Enigma, which saw a spirit cabinet and zombified audience members, while 2014's Infamous explored the idea of taking control of life - or at least that's what the talented illusionist made audiences think. Back with his highly anticipated new show Miracle, he has no intentions of resting on his laurels when it comes to pushing the boundaries of reality.
