Every year the best teams in the world of tennis meet in a competition that has become one of the biggest events each year, the Davis Cup, also known as the the World Tennis Cup. Since the beginning of the 20th century this competition brings together a large number of teams from countries around the world to battle it out for the trophy, commonly known as the Salad Bowl. The 2019 edition of the Davis Cup by Rakuten Finals comes to Spain, more specifically to the Caja Magica in Madrid from the 18th to the 24th of November. For the first time in the competition's history, 18 teams come together for only one week of competition, in one city, to decide who will be the Davis Cup winner of 2019. All teams are divided into 3 groups of 6 for the group phase. The winners of each group and the two best second runners-up will proceed to the quarter finals. We already have some details of the competition, and the first match ups: the Spanish team led by Sergi Bruguera is in Group B and will face Croatia and Russia in their first matches. Who will take the title with this new format? To find out the best way is to get tickets to the final and experience the best tennis has to offer directly from the stands. On StubHub you can find the dates for all the different phases and you can get tickets easily, quickly, and safely, so there are no excuses for staying at home to watch it on T.V.
The International Tennis Federation runs this competition which is one of very few team events for tennis, very different to the standard individual format. Those who get tickets to this year's event will have the opportunity to see the best players of the teams from 18 different countries. United States has won this competition the most, with 32 titles, and Australia in close second with 28 titles. France and Spain have had great results in the past 10 years, and Croatia will be coming to Madrid to defend their title from last year.
