Champions Trophy Origins
This thrilling sporting spectacle has gone through a number of organisation changes since launching under its initial guise in 1998. Originally a knock-out tournament, from 2002 it's operated on a round robin basis, while from 2009 its entrants were reduced to the eight best-ranked teams in the world. South Africa were the inaugural winners, with New Zealand triumphant two years later. The 2002 event was notable for having joint winners - India and Sri Lanka - after the final was washed out twice. 2004 saw hosts England reach the final before losing out to the West Indies, while the past three tournaments, in 2006 and 2009, have been won by Australia and India taking home the win in 2013, there's more than enough motivation to see this incredible match!
With England's one-day test side, led by skipper Alistair Cook and vice-captain Stuart Broad, hoping to taste victory on home soil in 2017, Champions Trophy tickets are proving hugely popular with cricket fans all over again. Find out the full schedule of matches happening at venues such as the Oval, Edgbaston and the SWALEC Stadium on StubHub UK, part of the world's largest ticket marketplace.
