From Sinatra to Sting
Born in Portland, Oregon in 1962, Chris Botti picked up the trumpet aged nine and first began performing in various jazz bands while at high school. After studying at the Indiana University School of Music, Botti briefly toured with Buddy Rich and Frank Sinatra, developed a long-running working relationship with Paul Simon and composed the score for 1996 movie 'Caught'. He became an artist in his own right with the release of 1995 debut album 'First Wish', while The Blue Nile's Paul Buchanan and Sting contributed to 1997's 'Midnight Without You' and 1999's 'Slowing Down the World', respectively. Botti then toured with the latter for two years, showcased his vocal abilities for the first time on holiday LP 'December', and worked with the London Session Orchestra on 2005's 'To Love Again: The Duets'. Botti went on to record the first of many PBS specials in 2006, embrace his roots on 2007's 'Italia', and reach No.13 on the Billboard 200 with 2009 live album 'Chris Botti in Boston'. Having previously received three nominations, Botti then won his first Grammy in 2013 with his fourth US Jazz chart-topper 'Impressions.' You can both buy and sell Chris Botti tickets on StubHub now.
