Catfish and the Bottlemen announce February 2019 UK tour

Since their debut in 2013, youthful indie rock rabble-rousers Catfish and the Bottlemen have been taking over the charts and the airwaves with their catalogue of contagious guitar anthems such as "Kathleen" and 'Cocoon'. In 2014, the wild four-piece soared into the UK Top 10 with their debut album The Balcony (which was nominated for the Welsh Music Prize) before second album The Ride topped the UK charts.

Catfish and the Bottlemen: chart-topping rockers

Following in the footsteps of Stereophonics and Manic Street Preachers, Welsh quartet Catfish and the Bottlemen originated in Llandudno, Wales. Growing up listening to bands such as the Stone Roses and Oasis, frontman Van McCann started writing song lyrics in primary school, and first picked up the guitar aged 14. Gathering a band together, Van and co. began carving out a reputation on the Welsh music scene, and after much hard graft, earned their major record deal in 2013.

Since then, the indie boys have enjoyed a rollercoaster of success. All their singles, including "Kathleen", "Cocoon" and "Homesick" premiered as Zane Lowe's 'Hottest Record in the World'. Their modest upbringing and grounded attitude is part of what makes Catfish and the Bottlemen so appealing. Despite releasing a massively successful album and accruing a growing legion of fans, the band remain level-headed. As Van himself said: "We are proper normal scruffy kids with guitars. We're basically Sunday league footballers with instruments."

Their debut album The Balcony skyrocketed into the UK top 10, prompting appearances at major festivals including Glastonbury and Ibiza Rocks.
