Cassia Tickets
Cassia are kings of the Cheshire calypso
Fancy a beach party with three fun-loving musicians? Cassia promise fans at their shows a good time and a chance to dance and sing along to their infectious Caribbean-West African music. For a band that partly owes its origins to a meeting in a branch of a well-known pub chain, they certainly know how to entertain. When you buy and sell Cassia tickets at StubHub, you can join in the fun.
From Macclesfield to Mali for Cassia
Three British lads from Macclesfield in south Cheshire combine to bring music lovers a sun-soaked, tropically exotic West African and Caribbean beach sound. How come? Cassia - Rob Ellis (lead vocals and guitar), Lou Cotterill (bass, vocals) and Jacob Leff (drums, vocals) - grew up listening to all sorts of music. The likes of Talking Heads, Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel and The Beach Boys were boyhood favourites, but the infectious rhythms, upbeat guitar licks and infectious melodies of African music struck a chord. This is the sound Cassia have been bringing to their growing army of dedicated fans. At their live shows, with the band projecting their youthful energy and vigour, the audience joins in with the songs and dance; these are gigs that will make you smile. Confident and relaxed on stage, sharp and fluent in their playing, Cassia's musical chemistry transfers to the audience, who can't help but join in. Sing and dance along with the trio when you purchase and offload Cassia tickets at StubHub.
Life's a beach for Cassia
Moving on from their Macclesfield roots, Cassia have toured throughout Britain and Europe. They have ambitions to play larger and larger venues, and critics reckon them among the most exciting indie acts to emerge from Britain in recent years. Listener-friendly favourites, such as Moana and Weekender, won them admirers, while their catchy number entitled 100 Times Over was a BBC Radio 1 Track of the Week. The boys brought all their energy and passion as a support act to Vampire Weekend, a band they greatly admire, while they starred at festivals such as Brownstock and Folk on the Lawn. At one time they actually played on the beautiful beach at St Ives in Cornwall - a genuine beach party after all! Compared in their early days to the likes of Little Comets and Bombay Bicycle Club, subsequently veering towards The Strokes, Cassia describe their overall style as "beachy, chilled, summery". The exotic overseas influence was made complete when drummer Jeff taught himself to play a traditional djembe skin-covered drum, originating from West Africa. Experience some of this 'Silk Town Calypso' when you buy and sell Cassia tickets at StubHub.
