British Superbikes - world's best domestic superbike racing series
Widely regarded as the world's best domestic superbike racing series, British Superbikes has been thrilling motorsport fans since it arrived on the scene in the late 1980s. You can both buy and sell British Superbikes tickets on StubHub.
Shane Byrne reigns supreme
First staged back in 1988, British Superbikes, also known as the British Superbike Championship, is the brainchild of MotorSport Vision and consists of twelve rounds which typically take place between April and October. Approximately 37 riders compete each year, with the top six at the end of each season progressing to the three-round, seven-race Showdown to decide the winner. Niall Mackenzie dominated the series in the mid-1990s with three consecutive victories, while other multiple winners include his fellow Scotsman Steve Hislop, Japan's Ryuichi Kiyonari and England's Shane Byrne, the latter of whom passed the half-dozen mark in 2017 to become the sport's most successful competitor. Ducati and Yamaha have produced more winners than any other manufacturer with at least nine titles each, while Kawasaki, Honda and Suzuki have all reached the top of the podium on more than one occasion. Circuits across England, Scotland and the Netherlands
The British Superbikes series takes in multiple circuits across England and Scotland throughout the season including Oulton Park, Knockhill, Silverstone, Brands Hatch, Donington Park, Snetterton, Thruxton and Cadwell. The Netherlands' TT Circuit Assen is also a regular venue, while previous stops have included Ireland's Mondello Park and Wales' Pembrey Circuit. Each race weekend begins with two 50-minute practice sessions on the Friday before moving onto the qualification stage on the Saturday and then the main event on the Sunday. The sport's popularity has hugely increased since the turn of the century thanks to wider TV coverage, with approximately 1.5 million viewers tuning in to the nail-biting race at Brands Hatch back in 2006. As a result, the live British Superbikes experience has expanded, with kid attractions such as bouncy castles, face painting and adventure playgrounds, driving activities such as go karting and racing simulators and live musical entertainment ensuring that there's always something for all the family.
