Bananarama: 80s pop megastars to complete mammoth UK tour, including dates in Manchester, Glasgow and London
Having broken into the Top 40 over 30 times since bursting onto the dance music scene over three decades ago, phenomenally-successful '80s chart-topping trio Bananarama hold the Guinness World Record for the most chart entries in history by an all-female group.
Considered one of the most successful British girl groups in pop history, the trio boast record sales of 30 million+ records over the course of their illustrious career, and now Siobhan Fahey, Sara Dallin and Keren Woodward – all in their mid-fifties – will embark on the substantial nationwide tour that they never managed during their time as a band before Fahey left the group in 1988.
Bananarama will play a mammoth 19 dates across the UK in November and December 2017, including Newcastle, Bristol and Cardiff. The girls will also call at: London, Southend, Belfast, Glasgow, Blackpool, York, Manchester, Birmingham, Nottingham, Bournemouth, Plymouth, Brighton, Ipswich, Oxford and Sheffield – meaning no Bananarama fan in the country will be far from a concert this winter.

Bananarama: back with a bang after almost 30 years
Brought together by a shared passion of flamboyant outfits and punk rock, Sara Dallin, Keren Woodward and Siobhan Fahey first met whilst staying together in London. Making their initial collective foray into performing, the trio often provided backing vocals at gigs for Iggy Pop and The Jam before being kicked out of their accommodations. After being ousted they were offered a place to stay above the Sex Pistols' old rehearsal room by ex-band member Paul Cook, who would go on to produce their debut single "A.I.E. (A Mwana)". The irresistibly catchy track caught the attention of ex-Specials singer Terry Hall, who invited them to guest on his song "T'ain't What You Do (It's the Way That You Do It)" and gave them their first taste of mainstream success. International fame soon followed with the release of dance hit "Venus" and their evolution from rock-chic tomboys to sleek pop glamazons.
Still hanging on to their '80s-era success, they more recently performed at the London Olympics and have staged gigs in stunning exotic locales such as Singapore, continuing to fly the flag for powerful female pop groups.
