Since debuting on the scene in 1999, Cleveland artist Avant has developed an impressive following in the R&B world and played sold-out shows across the country. No longer the young, up-and-coming star he was when he signed to former basketball great Magic Johnson’s Magic Johnson Music label, Avant has blossomed into one of the genre’s most confident and skilled performers. Fans who purchase Avant concert tickets can expect to hear the silky-voiced singer belt out slow jams like “Makin’ Good Love” and “Separated.”
Myron Avant, who is better known by his stage name of Avant, has been called "the new voice of ghetto soul" and remains a powerhouse in R&B nearly two decades after his first single, 1998’s “Separated.” In the years following “Separated,” Avant would release a number of other singles, which helped him expand his fan base and earned him airplay across the country.
Unlike other artists who fade and later return to the spotlight, Avant has consistently released music throughout his career. He celebrated 15 years as a top-level performer in 2015 when he released his critically acclaimed eighth studio album, appropriately titled The VIII.
Avant’s biggest hits
Avant’s breakout 2000 album, My Thoughts, rose to No. 6 on the R&B charts and features the songs "Separated," "Let's Make a Deal" and "This Time." His next album, Ecstasy, came out two years later and climbed to No. 6 on the Billboard charts thanks to hits like "Don't Say No, Just Say Yes," "Thinkin' About You" and "You Ain't Right.”
In 2006, the album Director hit No. 1 on the R&B charts and received rave reviews from critics and fans alike. The album features the songs "You Know What", "Stickwitu" and "Lie About Us.” In more recent years, Avant scored another hit with “You & I,” a 2013 duet featuring KeKe Wyatt.
