Where do the Governors play their home games?The Governors home field is known as Fortera Stadium. It is a 10,000-seat artificial turf stadium that has always served as the team's playing field. First opened in 1946 as the Clarksville Municipal Stadium, it was renamed Governors Stadium in 1993 after being fully bought and renovated by Austin Peay University itself, changing names once again to Fortera Stadium in 2016.

Who are some of the best players who have been a part of the Governors?The Governors have served as a home for a ton of great football players over the years. Many alumni from Austin Peay have gone on to compete in the NFL, including people like Jeff Gooch, Bonnie Sloan, Percy Howard and Lewis Lastik. Lastik, in particular, is notable for playing several other sports during his time at the school. After graduation isn't the only time the Governors have shined. As plenty of athletes have left their mark on the program while they were competing for the school. John Ogles (No. 30 from 1963 to 1966) and Harold Roberts (No. 84 from 1967 to 1970) have both had their numbers retired for how great they were while playing for the Governors.
Who are the football rivals for the Governors?The governors are involved in a four-way rivalry with the Tennessee State Tigers, the Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles and the UT Martin Skyhawks. These three teams compete against the Governors for the Sgt. York Trophy, signifying that the winner as the strongest Tennessee team in the Ohio Valley Conference. At present, Austin Peay holds the trophy and has done so for the past two years. There is also the Murray State Racers team who compete with the Governors in what's known as the Battle of the Border.
What is tailgating like for an Austin Peay Governors game?Tailgating is an integral part of any Governors football game. Fans are permitted to begin assembling up to four hours before kickoff. Food and drinks are permitted so long as people dispose of trash properly and don't get too rowdy. Fans also have the opportunity to greet the team two and a half hours prior to the game as they advance down Tailgate Alley. This is a fun experience for everyone involved.
