About Arsenio Hall
An American comedian and talk show host, Arsenio Hall has wowed audiences for decades. Born and raised in Ohio, after graduating college he moved to Chicago and then Los Angeles to pursue a career in comedy.
As one of the most popular American comedians and talk show hosts from 1989 until 1994, The Arsenio Hall Show was the comedic event not to miss for years. When his late-night show was at its peak, his signature slogan and fist pump “Roo, Roo, Roo!” became so popular it appeared in multiple movies, including Julia Roberts’ Pretty Woman, Disney’s Aladdin and Michael J. Fox’s The Hard Way. It was labeled a “pop-culture phenomenon.” Hall revived his talk show career in 2013, before giving up nightlife TV the following year.
With many accomplishments under his belt, Arsenio Hall has also participated in film performances such as Coming to America, Igor, Harlem Nights, The Proud Family Movie, Heckler and more. Small screen performances include The Real Ghostbusters, The New Alfred Hitchcock Presents, New Love: American Style, Muppets Tonight, Chelsea Lately, The Wendy Williams Show and more.
Arsenio Hall actively rallies around Magic Johnson and the Magic Johnson Foundation in support of awareness for AIDS, as well as economic and social justice reforms.
