The stadium has been the home of the Golden Lions ever since its opening in 2000. It is the official stadium for the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. When did the team begin?The Golden Lions Football team first organized in 1915 at Branch Normal College. In 1927, the school changed its name to Arkansas Agricultural, Mechanical and Normal College (AM&N), The first intercollegiate sports were organized, and the lion became the mascot of the teams in 1927. In 1972, the college merged with the University of Arkansas System, and it became the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (UAPB). In 1991, the UAPB football team won two national championships.
What was the best season for UAPB?Season records are only available since 1997. The best season for UAPB was the 2009–2010 season with 18 wins and 16 losses. The second-best season was 2012–2013 with 16 wins, and 14 loses. These were also the best years in terms of conferences wins and losses. Conference totals for 2009–2010 were 14 wins and four losses. For 2012–2013, the UAPB had 15 wins and three losses. The team's record is better for conference games than for its overall scores.
