The Arizona Rattlers are a professional football team that competes in the Indoor Football League. The Rattlers began their play as an expansion team in 1992 as a member of the Arena Football League. The Rattlers are the winners of 10 division titles and won five of the nine Arena Bowl Championship games they played in. The Rattlers announced their planned departure from the AFL on Oct. 17, 2016. They began their play in the IFL at the beginning of the 2017 season. The league debut for the Rattlers was against the defending champion Sioux Falls Storm on Feb. 17, 2017. The Rattlers lost to the Storm 40-29. Five months later, the Rattlers faced the Storm again. This time the league championship was on the line. The Rattlers won two championships with Bonner behind the center. Hunkie Cooper spent 13 years as a wide receiver for the Arizona Rattlers.
