Born Annie MacManus in 1978, the DJ studied English Literature at Queen's University in Belfast, before making the decision to pursue her love for music. Working as a producer at Radio One, she finally got her big break in 2006 at the station's Big Weekend in Dundee. Now almost ten years later, the popular DJ hosts a number of shows, including Annie Mac on a Friday evening and more recently taking over Zane Lowe's slot on a Monday. She make regular appearance on BBC Two's The Culture Show, giving her take on the latest music offerings.

By 2009 she had released her first compilation album, Annie Mac Presents, followed by more successful musical offerings in the following three years.
