The track record stands at 212.809 mph, set by driver Bill Elliott in 1987. Some drivers have won the race multiple times. Dale Earnhardt, Sr. holds the record with seven wins. His son, Dale Earnhardt, Jr., has three wins. Vehicle manufacturers also hold win records. Chevrolet stands out, clocking 21 wins with Ford a close second with 15 wins. It managed six in a row during the period from 2014 to 2019. Toyota won its only Alabama 500 race in 2008 with driver Tony Stewart at the helm.
