50s Dance Party Background
On February 3, 1959, tragedy struck when a plane carrying rock and roll musicians Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, and J.P. "The Big Bopper" Richardson crashed in Iowa. This day, widely referred to as "the day the music died", cast a dismal shadow over rock and roll. After all, these three musicians were some of the leading artists in rock and roll. Buddy Holly was responsible for major hit tunes like "Peggy Sue", "La Bamba", "Everyday", and "Not Fade Away". Ritchie Valens cranked out hits like "Donna" "Dooby-Dooby-Wah", "Rockin' All Night", and "We Belong Together". The Big Bopper also had his fair share of major rock and roll hits, such as "White Lightning" and "Bopper's Boogie Woogie".
Together, these three talented musicians were some of the most influential artists in rock and roll, so their fans were heartbroken to learn of the sad fate of the trio's plane crash.
John Mueller recognized the need for a great tribute to these three legendary rock and roll artists, so he organized the 50s Dance Party, an evening where you can experience some of the most authentic tribute performances to Buddy Holly, The Big Bopper, and Ritchie Valens. The first '50s Dance Party was held in 1999, and since then it has become one of the most highly anticipated tribute events in the world. Nobody does a Buddy Holly impersonation quite like John Mueller, who is an extraordinarily talented musician in his own right, which makes for a phenomenal concert experience.
When the 50s Dance Party stops in a city near you, you definitely don't want to miss out. Whether you were an avid fan of Holly, The Big Bopper, and Valens back in the day or have recently discovered their classic rock tunes, this is one tribute show you don't want to miss! Make sure that you have your tickets to the upcoming 50s Dance Party in Lancaster by grabbing your tickets on StubHub today!
