Royal Portrush Golf Club
Limber up at Royal Portrush Golf Club
We've been practicing that swing, carefully working on that putting stroke and grinding down our handicap all year long. Now though, it's time for the pros to show us how it's done as they battle it out at this prominent course. See it all live (and pick up a tip or two!) with Royal Portrush Golf Club tickets now available to buy and sell through StubHub.
A distinguished golf course across the world
Located in County Antrim on the northern coast of Northern Ireland, Royal Portrush is a prestigious private golf club consisting of two challenging, hilly and windy links courses: the Dunluce and Valley Links. The former is a championship course considered to be one of the best in the world, ranked by reputable golf magazines among the top five courses in the British Isles and the top 15 in the world. It was also ranked by a popular American magazine as the fourth best golf course outside of the United States. In 1951, Royal Portrush hosted the oldest of golf's four major championships for the first time: The Open Championship, or The British Open. This would be the first Open held outside the island of Great Britain and was won by English golfer Max Faulkner. Portrush also hosted The Irish Open in 2012. Camp out at the 480-yard-long par four at the fourth hole for massive drives, or marvel at some pristine technical ability at the green of hole five, perched at the edge of a devastating drop heading right down to the beach. The sixteenth hole, known as Calamity Corner is one of the most difficult, as the name might suggest! Featuring tough tests throughout, this course brings out the best in professional golf, which you can witness for yourself with Royal Portrush Golf Club tickets available to buy and sell via StubHub now!
See the best golfers live in action
Founded in 1888, Royal Portrush was originally called The County Club, until it took its present name under the sponsorship of the Prince of Wales in 1895. It was designed by English golf course architect Harry Colt, a highly prominent figure in his field with designs across the world, including North America, Australia and Asia. Created by Colt with a par of 72, 2011 U.S. Open winner Rory McIlroy broke the course record in 2006, completing the 18 holes in 61. Will you get the chance to see his phenomenal score card beaten live?
