A massively sought after talent in his native India, A R Rahman is one of the world's foremost composers known for his amazingly intricate live performances. Born in 1967 in Tamil Nadu in India, A R Rahman honed his skills at an early age assisting his father in the studio as he created scores for TV and film. By 1992, the emerging talent had started Panchathan Record Inn, which would later become the most advanced recording studio in India.
In the same year Roja became a career defining moment, winning awards across the board and leading to collaborations on some of Bollywood and Hollywood's biggest movie releases. 2014 was one of Rahman's busiest years, working on upwards of 12 films, notably Million Dollar Arm and The Hundred Foot Journey - both of which were nominated for Oscars in the original score category.
