From teenage rockers to international superstars

Originally performing under the name 'Devilish', twin brothers Tom and Bill Kaulitz formed a band together with Gustav Schäfer and Georg Listing and were discovered at the age of just thirteen. After renaming themselves for their favourite city and the amount of time they spent in hotels on tours, Tokio Hotel released their first official single in 2005. 'Durch den Monsun' climbed to number one on both the German and Austrian charts, catapulting the band into instant stardom from which they have never looked back. Playing the whole gamut of rock, from emo to pop to alternative to punk, the group has experimented with finding a sound that truly fits them.
