First formed in 1902, this leading choir quickly become associated with superb performances and impeachable vocals, going on to achieve competitive success throughout the UK and parts of Europe. Re-established after the World Wars, today's choir contains over one hundred members and continues to be significantly motivated by Welsh choral tradition. The London Welsh MVC festivals - established in 1969 - are a biennial innovation that have seen the choir branch out to celebrate other choral traditions outside of Wales, turning the spotlight on the best choirs from around the world.
This year's festival looks set to be an unforgettable affair, with Musical Director Edward-Rhys Harry conducting 13 choirs from the UK, South Africa, Norway and Sweden. The British Sinfonietta Orchestra will provide the music whilst bright young Welsh soloists Trystan Llyr Griffiths and Rhiannon Llewellyn will be showing off their impressive talents.
