The band claims to have been brought together by destiny, though actually it was the work of a friendly nightclub bouncer. Lead singer Dylan Frost was busking outside said club one night, and rather than move him on, the bouncer shouted at people to give him some change. One of the people he shouted at was Paddy Fingers, the future bass player of the band. Paddy and Dylan started talking about music, hit it off and arranged to meet up and jam. Whether Paddy actually gave Dylan some change in the end is not something that is recorded by history.

Band

The easiest way to describe Sticky Fingers is that they're just good fun. Despite the name, they have nothing to do with The Rolling Stones, instead drawing more from the punk reggae of The Clash and the jammed out noodling of Pink Floyd. They're music for a sunny day, the perfect soundtrack for sinking a few tinnies in the park with your mates, and even on a rainy winter day in England they can make you feel like you're living it up on Bondi Beach.

Breakthrough

Sticky Fingers did it the same way all great bands have done it in the past. There was no marketing blitz, no extensive social media campaign. They just went on the road and brought their music to the people, playing every dive bar in Australia while they honed their sound. The reward was a recording contract, and a huge buzz to their debut album, "Caress Your Soul," which made major waves back in 2013. The critical acclaim for the album wasn't just limited to their native country, with press in the UK and US picking up on the fact that a new talent was emerging.

Their sophomore record, "Land Of Pleasure," was a bona fide commercial success, reaching Number 3 in the Australian album charts in August of 2014. This is the album that really established them as major players in their homeland. Their songs are also a big hit online, with their video for the single "Australia Street" having garnered over 1.5 million views. All of these omens point to one thing: this will be the Year of the Finger.
