Born into a Jamaican family in Liverpool in the mid-80s, this future talent show star always had ambitions of a musical career. It wasn't until the seventh series of the ITV talent show The X Factor that her big break came. From her first audition it was clear that the judging panel saw something great in her voice, saying that she had a "recording voice" and that she was "our generation's songbird".
