Lana Del Rey Tickets
Sweeping to worldwide fame with her epic multi-platinum melodrama Born to Die, Lana Del Rey has gone on to become one of the most recognisable faces (and voices) in music. With her smoky vocals and lingering cinematic sound, no one has ever made nostalgia and melancholy feel quite so good.
Since then, the self-dubbed "gangsta Nancy Sinatra" has proven that she has the eviable knack of producing consistently strong and critically acclaimed albums. 2017's Lust for Life is the latest, and with a massive world tour likely to follow, don't miss your chance to catch the new material live – keep your eyes peeled for Lana Del Rey tickets at StubHub.
Lana Del Rey: poster girl of classic Americana
In contrast to the meteoric rises of contemporaries such as Katy Perry and Taylor Swift, Lana Del Rey's climb to the top has been somewhat more gradual. She spent from 2005 to 2010 trying – in vain – to find a musical breakthrough, before two grainy, home-produced videos for "Video Games" and "Blue Jeans" became viral internet successes on her otherwise sparsely followed YouTube channel in 2011.
The attention earned her a Q award for "Next Big Thing", an Ivor Novello for "Best Contemporary Song", and a record deal with Interscope Records and Polydor; with whom she released Born to Die in 2012. Propelled by the singles "Summertime Sadness", "National Anthem" – as well as the album's title track – Born to Die was an enormous commercial success; reaching number one in 11 countries and selling 3.4m copies in 2012 alone (making it the fifth best-selling album of the year).
Ultraviolence (released in the summer of 2014) went one better; topping the charts in 12 countries and receiving almost universal praise from music critics. The singles "West Coast" and "Black Beauty" were particularly well-received, while the fatalistic "Young and Beautiful" and moody "Once Upon A Dream" – the soundtracks for the 2013 adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald's The Great Gatsby and for Maleficent, respectively – continued to receive worldwide radio plays.
Led by the catchy "High by the Beach" and hypnotic "Terrence Loves You" the critically acclaimed Honeymoon followed in September 2015, with reviewers again falling over themselves to commend both Del Rey's imagination and consistency. The anticipation surrounding 2017's Lust for Life was palpable, and Del Rey once again rose to the challenge; producing a wonderfully delicate and vulnerable album that has since become a worldwide success.
