Founded in 1993, Lord March instigated the Festival in order to bring back motor racing to the Goodwood estate - which was already immersed in motor car history. Not able to hold a race on the grounds due to license restrictions, he chose to host the festival there instead. Today, the Sunday Times Supercar Run provides one of the highlights of the race, allowing speciality manufacturers to show off their latest models and demonstrate concept cars.
