Circa Waves Tickets
Ride the Indie Rock Circa Waves
Indie rock band Circa Waves is riding its own wave of success in the UK and U.S. Their music has been inspired by The Strokes and is sometimes compared in style to The Vaccines. Their record label, Transgressive Records, is also home to Foals, Mystery Jets and The Subways.
Schedule
Circa Waves will tour the East and West coasts of the United States, including cities such as New York, San Francisco and L.A. They can also be found playing all around the UK as well as France and other parts of Europe. Circa Waves tickets in the UK can be found at venues such as the Manchester Gorilla, The Wardrobe in Leeds and The Bodega Social Club in Nottingham. The band has performed at several festivals, such as the Southside and Hurricane Festivals in Germany. They also graced the stage at the Latitude Festival, Glastonbury Festival, T in the Park and Splendour in the Grass in Australia. Circa Waves played Arenal Sound in Spain, at Summersonic in Japan and the Reading and Leeds Festival.
Trivia
Founder Kieran Shudall formed the now-trending band after he decided to commit to music following years spent in garage bands. Shudall wrote the initial batch of Circa Waves songs himself before connecting with Joe Falconer (guitar) Sam Rourke (bass) and Sian Plummer (drums). The first song Shudall ever wrote for the band was the track, "Young Chasers." He explains it's about being young and naive. At some of their first gigs, they went under the pseudonyms Malkovich Malkovich and Wet Wet Wet. In as little as six months, Circa Waves went from being unknown to stars on the radio.
Band
Circa Waves are an indie-rock band formed in Liverpool in 2013. The band's lineup consists of front man Kieran Shudall on vocals and guitar, Joe Falconer on guitar, Sam Rourke on bass and Sian Plummer behind the drums. Kieran Shudall connected with bassist Rourke and percussionist Plummer through friends at Liverpool's Sound City. Shudall met Falconer shortly afterward at the same location, where Shudall was working as a stage manager.
Breakthrough
After a UK tour, Circa Waves' first single "Get Away/Good For Me" was released in 2013 on Transgressive Label. It was a double A-side limited seven inch vinyl record. A cassette version was released via the Kissibility label. The band's momentum accelerated when BBC Radio 1 DJ Zane Lowe dubbed the band's next single "Stuck in My Teeth" his "Hottest Record in the World," unleashing massive attention for the new band. Circa Waves opened the NME Awards Tour in March of 2014. This tour also included Royal Blood, Temples and Interpol.
Hit Albums
Circa Waves released their Young Chasers EP in 2014. Their top singles include "Get Away/Good For Me" and "Young Chasers" in 2014. The February 2014 BBC endorsement of their single "Stuck in My Teeth" caused a surge in both record sales and interest in the band. The release of the single "So Long" was recorded with music producer Dan Grech (who also works with Lana Del Rey and The Vaccines) at the RAK studios.
Show Experience
Circa Waves admits that their first gigs were somewhat chaotic. Instruments broke, and they had no spares or forgot to bring them. The band learnt from their mistakes and is now known as a "must-see band" by the music industry ever since their NME Awards Tour. The use of mood lighting flashes across the stage and they move energetically around when they play their instruments. Their choruses and music are catchy and the audience sings along to their songs. They look like they are having fun on stage while they play and spread infectious positivity through the audience like a tidal wave.
