Youngblood, the third album from the 5SOS boys, was released in June 2018, with their "Meet You There" UK tour following in October. The LP is packed with pop royalty thanks to assistance from songwriting legends Steve Mac (30 UK number one singles to date) and Ali Tamposi, who has written for Beyoncé, Christina Aguilera, Rozzi Crane, Demi Lovato, Lea Michele, Ciara and One Direction. Lead single "Want You Back" was released in February 2018 (22 in the UK charts), while title track "Youngblood" was another top 40 hit.

5 Seconds of Summer: new album and tour in 2018
Luke Hemmings, Michael Clifford, Calum Hood and Ashton Irwin met at school in Sydney, Australia and began posting covers of popular songs online in 2011, and soon some of their videos had received over half a million views apiece. That quickly caught the attention of major music labels and by 2012 they had been signed by Sony ATV. With only the aid of Facebook and Twitter, their first EP Unplugged went straight to the top of the iTunes charts in Australia. After members of One Direction got behind the band, tweeting to promote later singles "Gotta Get Out" and "Out of My Limit", international recognition soon followed.
With UK artists from McFly to the Kaiser Chiefs helping 5SOS develop their early sound, it was announced that the group would support One Direction on their Take Me Home tour, taking them across the world with all dates selling out within minutes. That prompted Capitol Records to sign them to a deal, and they released their first major label debut "She Looks So Perfect" in March 2014, becoming the first Australian band to have a number one in the UK in 14 years. The group's first album followed in June of the same year, winning a Kerrang! Award and peaking at number one in 13 countries.
