Paloma Faith: retro-styled singer launches comeback after maternity break

Since arriving on the scene towards the end of the 2009 mezzo-soprano Paloma Faith, who was once offered a slot in Amy Winehouse's band, has released three captivating albums, each of which showcase her distinct vocal talents. Both her debut, Do You Want the Truth Or Something Beautiful, and the double-platinum sophomore effort Fall To Grace were more melancholy in tone compared to the sassy, upbeat nature of her latest release. Featuring collaborations with a host songwriters including Raphael Saadiq and Diane Warren, A Perfect Contradiction was widely praised by music critics.

Aside from her singing career, the eccentric artist also has an extensive acting portfolio to her name, which includes roles in Terry Gilliam's The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus, the 2009 horror film Dread, and as a cabaret performance in a BBC adaptation of P.G Wodehouse's Blandings. In 2016, Faith was a judge/coach on the television talent show The Voice UK – further raising her profile.
