Performers at Rice Stadium
Rice Stadium TicketsRice Stadium is the official home of the Rice University Owls football program. The stadium is located on the university's campus near the Houston Museum District in Houston, Texas. Opened on September 30, 1950, as a replacement for the previous Rice Field, the stadium has a long and illustrious history. It has hosted the Bluebonnet Bowl, Super Bowl VIII between the Minnesota Vikings and Miami Dolphins and the 1988 Monsters of Rock Tour with Van Halen and Metallica. It was also where President John F. Kennedy gave his famous speech in 1962 extolling the necessity to send a man to the moon. Rice Stadium was also the temporary home of the Houston Oilers from 1965 to 1967 and the University of Houston Cougars football team in the 1950s and 1960s. Rice Stadium's seating capacity is 47,000 people, which can be expanded to 59,000 when necessary. StubHub is your source for all Rice Stadium events.
