Although he is largely considered a solo artist now, this reggae master started off performing in a band with his late father Bob Marley and siblings Cedella, Stephen and Sharon, and has fronted the group known as The Melody Makers since. Their debut album Play The Game Right won them plaudits, with 1986's Conscious Party and 1989's One Bright Day enjoying similar levels of critical success. He couldn't be constrained to music, however, becoming politically active in the 1990s then releasing music as a solo artist, including 2003's Dragonfly and 2006's Love Is My Religion. Soon the awards started pouring in, with the latter album bagging him a prestigious Grammy.
