Family-friendly days at the races
Wolverhampton Racecourse, like horse racing in general, has come a long way from the old days of only drawing punters and the fashion set. Over the years, it has evolved to the point where a wide variety of family and youth culture events have taken almost equal stage with the action on the track. There are Ladies' Days that put a more feminine spin on proceedings, which have often featured live performances from young pop stars like Jess Glynne. A Family Sun Funday has also become a regular fixture in the summer months. Veteran ska-superstars Madness are among the bands that have played at the racetrack as well. The popular outdoor show they developed upon reforming, which they've taken from Clapham Common to German '80s festivals, has been given a makeover for "A Day at the Races" at this West Midlands track. Regional sporting events have also been hosted here, particularly County Cup bouts of kickboxing and karate. Wolverhampton Racecourse tickets will give you access to this wide world of entertainment.
Wolverhampton's most famous musical proteges
Wolverhampton Racecourse is one of the most historical in the annals of UK racing. It was the first track in the country to install floodlights, ushering the era of night racing – a massive leap forward for the sport indeed. Horse racing in Wolverhampton originally took place in the West Park area of the city, way back in 1825. It remained there for the next 50 years, until the sport was officially moved to Dunstall Park, which became its home for the following century and more. Suffice to say, when you get Wolverhampton Racecourse tickets, you're visiting one of the venues that has seen it all from the punter's point of view. Of course, it's seen significant upgrades over the last 150-odd years and the track became fully synthetic in 2004, but there's still a sense of British racing history about the place, with a strong West Midlands flavour. Wolverhampton itself has made a fair contribution to the nation's musical heritage, having been the birthplace of One Direction superstar, Liam Payne, and producing one of the UK's most prestigious and influential drum 'n' bass and breakbeat artists ever, the one and only Goldie. But back to the racetrack... if you're a punter, you'll find races on the go day and night at Wolverhampton Racecourse, and if you're not, we've given you plenty of other reasons to hit StubHub and see what's going on there!
