Vince Neil tour dates
M̦tley Cr_e's final tour ended on New Year's Eve 2015, but lead singer Vince Neil wasted little time hitting the road with his solo act, and within a matter of months was showcasing such band favorites as "Dr. Feelgood," "Kickstart My Heart" and "Girls, Girls, Girls," as well as covers of heavy metal classics like Led Zeppelin's "Whole Lotta Love" and Ronnie James Dio's "Heaven and Hell." The Vince Neil tour is a good old-fashioned, straight-ahead, hard rock party.
Vince Neil's background
In 1980, Mick Mars, Nikki Sixx and Tommy Lee of M̦tley Cr_e were in search of a lead vocalist. After seeing Vince Neil handle the same role for his band Rockandi, the Cr_e asked him to join forces with their young band. From '80 until '92, Neil fronted what became one of the most successful and notorious hard rock bands in the world.
With his long, blonde locks and California surfer boy looks, Neil seemed destined for the role of rock and roll frontman. His first album with the Cr_e drew comparisons of his image and vocal technique with other L.A. metal acts, including Guns N' Roses, Van Halen and Ratt. Due to the success of "glam metal" at popular rock clubs along the Hollywood strip like the Whisky a Go Go, record labels were on the lookout for bands on the rise. After signing with Elektra, they began working on Shout at the Devil, which rocketed to multi-platinum status and launched them into the rock and roll stratosphere.
By the end of this chapter as lead singer, Neil had helped the band sell tens of millions of records, including Theater of Pain (1985), Girls, Girls, Girls (1987) and Dr. Feelgood (1989). After the successful tour supporting the release of Dr. Feelgood, Neil and the band went separate ways. He quickly signed with Warner Brothers and teamed up with guitarist Steve Stevens, formerly with Billy Idol's band, releasing Exposed in 1993. Enlisting the help of the Dust Brothers production team, he released Carved in Stone in 1995.
Neil rejoined M̦tley Cr_e in 1997 for the release of Generation Swine. He stayed with them for the 2000 release of New Tattoo, before launching a reality TV career with VH1's The Surreal Life in 2003.
