Performers at Vanderbilt Stadium
Vanderbilt Stadium TicketsVanderbilt Stadium started holding football games in 1922, though it was then known as Dudley Field. As a venue used exclusively for college football, it was actually the first stadium of its kind in the South. It's home to the Vanderbilt University football team, and it has hosted NFL games, state high school football championships and the Music City Bowl in 1998. Over the years, various improvements have been made. A major rebuild took place in 1980 and 1981 with renovations taking place in 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011 to modernize the facilities and put in a high-quality artificial playing surface. The stadium has also been used for concerts with headliners such as Luke Bryan and Jay-Z. Grab tickets to your favorite Vanderbilt Stadium events at StubHub.
What is the seating capacity? The stadium can accommodate 40,550 fans. The bleachers are arranged in a U-shape around the South End Zone with a separate seating section in the North End Zone. There are four entry gates with the home team taking the sidelines between Gates 1 and 2.
What's Vandyville? This is the party zone for Vanderbilt Stadium football games, located along Natchez Trace and west of the track. What is the Commodore Star Walk?On game days about an hour before kickoff, the football team starts to make its way into the stadium from McGugin Center. If you want to see the players up close, you can join in with the university's cheerleaders and pep band as they form a tunnel surrounding the players when they cross Jess Neely Drive and head in.
