The band behind 'Valerie'

The Zutons' core line-up of frontman Dave McCabe, guitarist Boyan Chowdhury, saxophonist Abi Harding, drummer Sean Payne and bassist Russell Pritchard first came together in 2001. Named after Zoot Horn Rollo, a guitarist with Captain Beefheart's Magic Band, the group released their debut album, 'Who Killed… The Zutons?', in 2004 and subsequently received a BRIT Award nomination for British Breakthrough Act. Two years later, the group reached No.2 in the UK charts with sophomore "Tired of Hanging Around" and scored UK Top 10 hits with 'Why Don't You Give Me Your Love' and 'Valerie', the latter of which was later transformed into a retro-soul anthem by Mark Ronson and Amy Winehouse. Formerly of fellow Liverpudlians The Stands, Paul Molloy replaced a departed Chowdhury for 2008's 'You Can Do Anything', however the following year, the group went their separate ways. McCabe pursued a solo career, Pritchard went on to play with Noel Gallagher, Harding joined the Lightning Seeds, Payne worked with Miles Kane and Molloy formed Serpent Power. The long-awaited reunion shows

The seeds for a The Zutons reunion were sown in 2016, when three members performed together for a Viola Beach tribute gig. That same year, the original line-up reconvened for a show dedicated to a late friend. And in 2018, The Zutons announced that they would be reuniting once again, minus bassist Pritchard, for a tour celebrating the 15th anniversary of 'Who Killed… The Zutons?', the debut album that shifted more than half a million copies and was nominated for the Mercury Music Prize. The group played the record in full, including the singles 'Pressure Point', 'You Will You Won't', 'Remember Me', 'Don't Ever Think (Too Much)' and 'Confusion'. From McCabe's signature raspy tones, to Harding's infectious sax hooks, to Molloy's jangly guitar riffs, The Zutons' reunion shows proved that the Merseysiders remained as vibrant as ever.
