The Last Internationale Tickets
American rock band the Last Internationale plays hard riffs with a melodic alternative rock feel. They're also known for their socially conscious and empowering songs. The Last Internationale tickets are an invitation to get down with a female-fronted band that's rough and tumble, yet still danceable.
Schedule
The Last Internationale tours internationally, though most heavily in their native U.S. They appear at British locations like the Barfly in London, the Leeds Festival, the Exchange in Bristol and the Reading Festival. Internationally, you might find them at venues like Sound Academy in Toronto, the Fillmore in Detroit and the Pukkelpop Festival in Belgium.
Trivia
The Internationale" is the international Communist anthem, which foretells a future where humanity will band together under socialist ideology, free of social class and nationalist or ethnic distinctions. While the Last Internationale's energetic music appeals to plenty of people, regardless of their politics, the band's name and its music make no secret of its members' ideologies. Their song "Workers of the World -- Unite!", recorded for International Workers' Day 2013, is a spare, folk-flavoured anthem that describes the plight of blue collar workers in overtly political tones.
Band/Singer
This band formed in 2013, with lead singer Delila Paz and guitarist Edgey Pires. When guitarist Tom Morello from American hard rock band Rage Against the Machine heard the Last Internationale's music, he referred his bandmate, drummer Brad Wilk, to them. Wilk ended up joining the band shortly after that, and in 2014 they released their first album.
Breakthrough
Though Tom Morello's support did wonders for the Last Internationale's profile, their first EP, "New York, I Do Mind Dying," brought them to the attention of critics and fans. This album had bluesy grooves and a powerful folky feel that, coupled with Paz' sultry voice, reminds listeners of Janis Joplin. As though attempting to show their range as artists, they followed this release with a single entitled "Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Indian Blood" on a seven-inch. This song has danceable jams, hard rock guitar work, wailing vocals courtesy of Paz and politically charged lyrics. This track helped the Last Internationale make their name as a band to watch for critics and fans alike, and the song became the opening track on their first release.
Hit Albums
Released in August 2014, "We Will Reign" has met with broad critical acclaim. It largely abandons the folky stylings of "New York, I Do Mind Dying" for a more explicitly hard rock feel that's typified by its opening track. The chart peaked at number 46, and the band was invited onto the "Late Show with David Letterman" to play some of their favourite songs from the album. Their meteoric rise has only been spurred on further by the album's release, and they've played alongside rock legends like Slash and Robert Plant.
Show Experience
Especially as the band has embraced a hard rock image, they've played raucous, high energy shows. Frontwoman Paz is personable and friendly, and often engages in banter with the audience. However, she leans primarily on the music rather than her personality to make an impression. With the songs' pounding rhythms and heavy basslines, crowds love to dance and clap along. Paz often invites them to sing along, underscoring the pro-social, power-to-the-people feel of their music."Back to TopSign-up to receive the latest updates, exclusive offers and more!
