A New Day with The Blue Dawns
Garage rock has become a staple genre in the music industry, but few have heard of garage blues, which makes The Blue Dawns name and style even more fitting. It's a self-described mix of The White Stripes and The Black Keys with some blues from the 40s and 50s thrown in. The talented young three-piece comprises already seasoned musicians who know how to rock between soulful bluesy tracks, adding a familiar bit of funk and melody to an otherwise unique sound. When the garage blues sound catches on with the masses, The Blue Dawns will lead the charge.
As an up-and-coming band, The Blue Dawns have been working more on an EP than touring around their native United Kingdom. However, the band has booked an upcoming tour including venues like King Tuts in Glasgow, Surya in London, Dog & Whistle in Hertford, The Bumper in Liverpool, The Thunderbolt in Bristol and The Packhorse in Leeds. With the growing popularity of this group, The Blue Dawns tickets will become a commodity soon, so it's better to see them sooner rather than later. The Blue Dawns will tackle the tour the old fashioned, rock star way in a trusty transit van with beds installed inside. The tour will include 12 shows in 17 days across the UK in a push to get The Blue Dawns' music and name out to the public.
The group of friends likes to do things that are out of the ordinary for fun and strive to do so as much as possible when they are not playing music. So rather than congregating in a pub, in front of the television or in town, they will go camping and rock climbing to get out in the open, since they spend so much time indoors playing their music.
The Blue Dawns formed in 2014 from the remains of indie rock band Likely Lads. The earlier band released a first album before the members decided to change direction. The name was changed to The Blue Dawns and a member left, resulting in a tight three-piece band with Ross McCleod on bass and lead vocals, Ben Porter on guitar and Jordan Maher on drums and vocals.
The Blue Dawns haven't had a solid breakthrough moment. The band has booked a tour with stops at some of the bigger venues in major cities around the United Kingdom.
The band's first, eponymous EP was released in the middle of 2014 -- less than a year after the band formed. The Blue Dawns has been well-reviewed by online critics and music aficionados who know the local UK scene. They wrote more singles during a break from touring, and those singles have received regular play on the band's website and Soundcloud.
Band members are young but experienced, and attract an equally young, energetic base of fans. With a distinct garage blues sound studded with rock 'n' roll roots, the band's live performances dominate the small bar and club venues. The music starts from a quiet temp, lifts to screaming guitars, and keeps the audience begging for more. The Blue Dawns tickets will give concertgoers a front-row seat to one of the hottest emerging genres in music.
