Stefflon Don: "Queen of the Dancehall" 

Birmingham's Stefflon Don has been making some serious waves in the music business in the last 12 months. The upcoming rapper, singer and songwriter has scored a UK top 10 single with "Hurtin' Me” (featuring French Montana); scored another charting single with "Ding-A-Ling" (with Skepta); and appeared on Jax Jones and Demi Lovato’s hit "Instruction" all in the past year. 

Just a few weeks into 2018, she was named 'Next Up' by Apple Music, which selects an up-and-coming musician each month to showcase to audiences worldwide. Previous recipients include Khalid, Mr. Eazi and Sigrid. Stefflon Don was chosen for January 2018, and was the first Brit to make the list. After the announcement, Stefflon said: "I am really excited to be the 'Up Next' Artist...it’s great to be the first British artist to get this support from Apple Music. Can’t wait for you all to hear what I have coming this year. It’s gonna be a mad Ting!"

Stefflon Don: one of hip-hop's rising stars

Born in Birmingham, Stefflon Don is of Jamaican descent. She lived in the Netherlands for a decade before returning to Britain to study at a London school aged 14. Following her graduation, she worked as a cake decorator and hairdresser in order to finally pursue a career in music.

She first appeared in the song "London" by American singer Jeremih, before signing for Quality Control Music. In 2017, she featured on the song "Instruction" by Jax Jones and Demi Lovato, while her own single "Hurtin' Me" reached number seven on the UK Singles Chart.
