In the wake of their breakthrough success, Sheppard tickets are selling fast. The band is touring the world, playing headline shows and appearing at festivals. In the UK, they will be headlining the Deaf Institute in Manchester and Oran Mor in Glasgow. They will also be performing at the famous Isle of Wight Festival and British Summer Time in London, where they are supporting pop superstar Taylor Swift.

Their music may be very different, but Sheppard does have something in common with Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande. After they became famous in Australia, they were spotted by Justin and Ariana's manager Scooter Braun, who believed in their potential so much that he helped launch them in the US. They have since supported "All About That Bass" singer Meghan Trainor on tour and will perform at many US festivals and summer events, including Lollapalooza and Austin City Limits.

Band

Sheppard is a six-piece band made up of three siblings, George, Amy and Emma Sheppard, and their friends Michael Butler, Jay Bovino and Dean Gordon. The group was formed in 2009, and started their own record label Empire of Song. They became known in Australia in 2013 when their single "Let Me Down Easy" became a hit, and were nominated for an ARIA Award. However, it wasn't until they released their follow-up single "Geronimo" a year later that the band really began to take off.

Breakthrough

Sheppard made history when their single "Geronimo" reached #1 in Australia. It was the first #1 hit ever recorded in their hometown of Brisbane, and it stayed at the top of the chart for three weeks, longer than any previous independent release. The song has gone over five times platinum, and was the biggest selling single by an Australian artist in Australia in 2014. The Australian and international versions of the video have a combined YouTube view count of over 32 million views.

Hit Albums

Sheppard's debut album Bombs Away was released in Australia in 2014, and just missed out on topping the charts. It debuted at #2, and has achieved gold status with over 35,000 copies sold. The album has also been released in the US, where it entered the Billboard Top 200 chart at #31, a great start for a new international act. Bombs Away includes the singles "Geronimo," "Let Me Down Easy," "Smile" and "Something's Missing." Reviews have been positive across the board, including 4 stars from Rolling Stone, and 9/10 from the AU Review.
