The brick building was built in 1924, but eventually, it closed as a school in 1981 due to low enrollment and was vacant for many years. After its purchase in 2013, the site underwent a renovation to include office and retail space as well as a music and restaurant venue. Neko Case played the first show at the Revolution Hall Portland in 2015. Now, the venue hosts other popular performers such as Patty Griffin and Josh Ritter.
