Planet Earth II Live in Concert: Earth's greatest treasures like you've never seen them before

After the sensational success of the BBC's Planet Earth II TV series – presented and narrated, of course, by the legendary Sir David Attenborough – the show returns in all its glory in 2018 as the Royal Albert Hall in London showcases the greatest treasures of our planet through a mix of visual and musical brilliance. 

The concert will feature original footage from the groundbreaking, critically-acclaimed BBC series and be accompanied by the BBC Concert Orchestra, playing the stunning music of Jacob Shea, Jasha Klebe and Academy Award winning German composer Hans Zimmer. The whole event will be hosted from the stage by Mike Gunton, Creative Director of the Natural History Unit and Executive Producer of Planet Earth II.

Planet Earth II Live in Concert: original footage and orchestra bring show to life

The original Planet Earth, airing in 2006, was one of the first natural documentary series to be made in high definition (HD) with Planet Earth II utilised new technologies developed since, including ultra high definition (4K), improved camera stabilisation, remote recording and aerial drone technology; all of which will showcased on big screens at the concert.

Speaking about the show, German composer Hans Zimmer said: "Planet Earth II may be one of the most amazing thing I’ve ever been involved in … some of the greatest action scenes ever put on film … some of the most emotional, epic, fragile scenes I’ve ever witnessed. Film making at its absolute peak."
