Pete Doherty - Libertines Frontman Announces 2016 Eudaimonia Tour

While The Libertines revival continues to gain momentum, this enterprising troubadour has still found the time to produce a second solo album. A UK tour, entitled Eudaimonia, has been confirmed for May 2016, and culminates in performances at London's Hackney Empire. The musician last released material in 2015 with the one-off single 'Flags of the Old Regime', a tribute to his late friend Amy Winehouse, but also celebrated The Libertines reunion with comeback album Anthems for Doomed Youth and a successful tour with his old bandmates. Pete Doherty Biography - Second Solo Album Arrives in 2016

Born in Hexham, Northumberland, the young Doherty moved to London in the late '90s for a brief stint studying English literature before realising his career aspirations belonged in music. After meeting future bandmate Carl Barat, the two realised they were kindred spirits, and friendship and songwriting chemistry prompted the formation of The Libertines. His natural flair for wordplay and captivating live performance helped win the group an increasingly devoted army of fans, and the release of debut album Up the Bracket in 2002 brought mainstream success. Despite his immense talent, personal problems forced the group's disbandment after a second eponymous LP in 2004 - only reuniting to much fanfare in 2015.

Aside from his time in the iconic Libertines, the singer has collaborated with poet Wolfman on 'For Lovers', which was nominated for an Ivor Novello Award, and released three albums with Babyshambles in Down in Albion, Shotter's Nation and Sequel to the Prequel. His solo work has also received critical acclaim, with first LP Grace/Wastelands praised for its charisma and outstanding lyrical content.
