Since 1921, the Orpheum Theatre in Minneapolis has been the place to see quality theatre events in Minnesota. Now part of the Hennepin County Trust, this historic theatre seats up to 2,600 guests. The theatre was restored in 1993 and showcases beautiful architectural details, including a 2,000-pound chandelier and Pompeian friezes. Can you tour the Orpheum Theatre?
Tours are available at the theatre for educational groups only. The cost is $7 per person with a $50 minimum fee. For groups of 40 or more, there is a discounted rate of $4 per person. There are additional art activities that are available with tours for an additional cost.
Can children attend shows at the Orpheum?
Children under the age of five are not permitted at the Orpheum, except for certain events. Parents are encouraged to research the show they are attending to find out if it will be appropriate for their children.
Can you bring food to Orpheum Theatre events?
Outside food is not allowed in the Orpheum; however, there is food available for purchase. Adjacent to the Orpheum Theatre, Jack Link's Legend Lounge is also open 90 minutes before each show and has light snacks, alcoholic beverages and soft drinks available for purchase.
Do Orpheum Theatre events offer assistance for guests with disabilities?
The Orpheum has many options for guests with disabilities. Sign language interpreters are available for shows as well as audio description and open captioning. Service animals are permitted as well at the venue.
Where do you park when you visit the Orpheum Theatre?
While there is not a designated parking ramp specifically for guests attending Orpheum Theatre events, there are many parking ramps nearby. Discounted parking is available at the City Center garage, Embassy Suites Minneapolis parking garage, and at the parking garage at 50 South Sixth Street if you reserve parking ahead of time with a discount code.
Can you bring purses and bags into the Orpheum Theatre?
Backpacks and large purses are not allowed in the Orpheum, but small purses that can fit in your lap or under your Orpheum Theatre seating are acceptable. All bags and purses will be searched upon entering the Orpheum Theatre.Back to Top
